Nigerian Navy Transfers Rescued Trafficking Victims to NAPTIP

The Nigerian Navy has successfully handed over two rescued victims of suspected human trafficking to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). This action underscores the Navy's commitment to combatting human trafficking and protecting vulnerable individuals.

The handover took place at NAPTIP's Lagos Zonal Command in Ikeja, following a targeted anti-human trafficking operation conducted by the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Badagry. According to Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, Director of Naval Information, the victims were initially taken to the Western Naval Command Maritime Crime Investigation Desk for comprehensive documentation, biometric capture, and necessary administrative procedures before their formal transfer to NAPTIP.

This operation reflects the Nigerian Navy's dedication to safeguarding Nigeria's maritime corridors from organized crime and highlights its collaboration with government agencies to dismantle human trafficking networks.
