Nigerian Navy Transfers Human Trafficking Victims to NAPTIP

The Nigerian Navy has successfully handed over two rescued victims of suspected human trafficking to the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP). This action, which underscores the Navy's commitment to combatting human trafficking and protecting vulnerable individuals, was carried out by the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Badagry at NAPTIP's Lagos Zonal Command in Ikeja.

The victims were rescued during a targeted anti-human trafficking operation. According to Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, the Director of Naval Information, the victims underwent comprehensive documentation and biometric capture at the Western Naval Command Maritime Crime Investigation Desk before their formal transfer to NAPTIP for rehabilitation and further investigation.

Captain Folorunsho stated that this successful handover reflects the Nigerian Navy's dedication to safeguarding Nigeria's maritime corridors from organized crime and highlights the importance of collaboration with government agencies to dismantle human trafficking networks.
