Nigerian Navy and Spanish Warship Conduct Joint Drill

The Nigerian Navy, under the leadership of Vice Admiral Idi Abba, conducted a joint maritime security exercise with a Spanish warship, aimed at strengthening operational capabilities and fostering international collaboration. This exercise, codenamed "Constant Grip," took place at the Western Naval Command over the weekend.

Rear Admiral Abdullahi Mustapha, speaking on behalf of the flag officer commanding, highlighted the importance of the drill in enhancing operational effectiveness and professional competence among personnel. Commodore Bashir Moham Sule noted that the exercise covered critical operational areas, including fisheries protection and visit board search seizure operations, targeting the suppression of illicit maritime activities such as drug trafficking.

The joint drill is designed to enhance interoperability between the Nigerian Navy and its Spanish counterpart, providing a platform to gather essential operational data and review existing tactics and procedures. The successful execution of this exercise underscores the Nigerian Navy's commitment to safeguarding the nation's waters and strengthening collaborative partnerships with allied navies.
