Nigerian Political Parties Intensify 2027 Election Campaigns

As of September 10, 2026, governorship candidates and political parties in Nigeria are ramping up their campaigns for the upcoming 2027 elections, with a focus on policy agendas that include security, agriculture, education, healthcare, workers’ welfare, and economic development. In a separate incident, Ibrahim Khalil Dan Shagamu, a social media commentator, was found dead at his residence in Gaida, Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State, after being attacked by unidentified men who broke into his home.
