Nigerian Socialite Accused in $2.5M Dubai Prince Romance Scam

Nigerian socialite Nzube Henri Ikeji is facing allegations of posing as a Dubai Prince in a $2.5 million romance scam targeting a Romanian businesswoman named Laura. The scam reportedly involved impersonating the Dubai Crown Prince on social media to lure the victim into a fraudulent investment scheme.

Ikeji is accused of orchestrating the scheme, which included creating a fake persona and using emotional manipulation to gain the victim's trust. The victim was led to believe she was interacting with the Dubai Prince and his financial manager, with plans to invest in a humanitarian project in Romania.

The scam escalated when the victim was asked to meet the supposed royal's financial manager in London to set up a bank account. Investigations revealed suspicious fund transfers between UK and Nigerian accounts, with a suspect identified as Martin Abhulimhen.

The case has drawn attention from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as part of a broader probe into cross-border romance and cryptocurrency investment scams.
