Nigerian Teen Gains Global Fame for Electric Vehicle Design

Ishaq Jamilu, a 19-year-old automotive enthusiast from Kusada Local Government Area in Katsina, Nigeria, has received international recognition for his innovative electric vehicle design. His work was acknowledged by the International Art Magazine Japan, which featured his project in an article titled “Revolutionising Affordable Electric Vehicles: Reducing Costs Without Sacrificing Performance.” Jamilu developed his concept to make electric mobility more affordable while ensuring performance, efficiency, durability, and functionality.

He emphasized reducing production costs without compromising essential features. His design includes a compact body structure, efficient space usage, and a user-friendly interior aimed at improving energy conservation.

Jamilu's journey reflects the potential of Nigerian youth in technology and innovation, as he self-learned through online research, technical drawing, and practical experience as a mechanic. He expressed a desire to pursue formal education in automotive design to further his skills and contribute to the development of affordable, efficient, and environmentally friendly vehicles.
