Young Innovators Shine at Teesas Startup Spark 2.0

Nigerian entrepreneur and investor Iyinoluwa Aboyeji mentored participants at the Teesas Startup Spark 2.0 pitch competition for children aged seven to 18 in Lagos on Wednesday. The event, part of Teesas Education's initiative, aims to guide young innovators in transforming their ideas into viable businesses.

Aboyeji expressed enthusiasm for the participants' technology-driven projects, which prominently featured Artificial Intelligence (AI) and mobile applications across various sectors, including automotive, education, health, and fashion technology. Notable presentations included an EdTech application by 11-year-old Ugobuze Kaitochukwu, designed for underserved communities, and a self-driving solar-powered vehicle by 10-year-old Aloba Oluwatoni Joel.

Additionally, 16-year-old Destiny Agbodu proposed a 24-hour drive-through café utilizing robots for customer interaction. Following the mentorship, teams will refine their ideas and submit video pitches, with judges selecting three teams to compete in the grand finale on August 29.
