Troops Arrest Terrorist Ammunition Courier in Plateau

On March 15, 2024, at approximately 1:00 PM, Nigerian troops conducted a sting operation in Kuka community, Shendam Local Government Area, Plateau State, leading to the arrest of a suspect identified as a terrorist ammunition courier. The operation, part of the Sector 9 Sub Sector 91 Task Force, was informed by intelligence sources.

The suspect was apprehended with 100 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, which is believed to be intended for a terrorist group operating in the Wase Local Government Area and neighboring states. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is a member of a terrorist group and has sustained gunshot wounds, likely from an attack in Benue State.

The recovered ammunition is currently in custody as investigations continue.
