Nigerian Troops Eliminate 61 ISWAP Terrorists in Borno

On Wednesday morning, Nigerian troops successfully killed at least 61 suspected members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) during a military operation in Borno State. The operation was reported by security expert Zagazola Makama and involved collaboration with the Nigerian Air Force.

The troops engaged the terrorists as they attempted to infiltrate Malam Fatori in the Abadam Local Government Area. The terrorists, who advanced on foot and deployed armed drones, aimed to breach the defenses of the troops from the 68 Battalion.

However, the military's integrated air and ground maneuvers effectively neutralized a large number of the attackers. The security situation in Borno has worsened recently, with several individuals killed in similar assaults, highlighting the ongoing challenges faced by security forces in the region.
