Nigerian Woman Arrested in India with 3.6kg Heroin

Bela, a Nigerian woman from Delta State currently residing in Delhi, was arrested by the Tarn Taran Police in India for allegedly possessing 3.6 kg of heroin. The arrest occurred during a special operation near Goindwal Bypass, Amritsar, and was led by Senior Superintendent of Police Surend Lamba, with the operation supervised by Inspector Rupinder Singh Lamba.

The police intercepted a grey taxi, driven by Dalip Kumar from Noida, Uttar Pradesh, where they discovered the heroin along with a mobile phone and 1,500 rupees suspected to be drug money. Preliminary investigations indicated that Bela was part of an international drug trafficking network linked to Pakistani smugglers, coordinating the transport of heroin across the India-Pakistan border to supply Punjab and Delhi.

A case has been registered against her under Section 21(c) of the NDPS Act at the Tarn Taran police station. This arrest is part of a series of recent drug-related cases involving Nigerian nationals in India.
