Family Raises Funds to Repatriate Nigerian Woman's Body

Christiana Nwosu, a Nigerian woman, passed away from cardiac arrest on July 19, 2026, during her visit to the United Kingdom. Her family, represented by Chijioke Metuka, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise £10,000 for the repatriation of her remains to Nigeria.

The family expressed their devastation over her sudden loss, describing Nwosu as “a beacon of light, love and warmth.” They wish to honor her memory by returning her body to Nigeria for burial among her extended family and ancestral roots. The campaign outlines that the costs associated with repatriation include funeral director fees, specialist services, documentation, air freight charges, and burial expenses in Nigeria.

As of the report, £7,941 had been raised towards the £10,000 target. The family has appealed for public support through donations and sharing the campaign to help ease their financial burden during this difficult time.
