CAN Demands Justice After Plateau State Killings

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has condemned the recent killings in Plateau State, specifically the attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, which reportedly claimed 28 lives and left several others injured. In a statement issued late Monday, CAN President Okoh expressed deep concern over the rising violence in the region, describing the incident as tragic and unacceptable.

He stressed that Nigerians are weary of continuous mourning and urged the authorities to take decisive action to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for the attacks. Okoh highlighted the need for a comprehensive investigation to prevent future occurrences and acknowledged the efforts of the Plateau State government, while warning that temporary responses are insufficient.

Plateau State Governor Mutfwang confirmed the death toll during a statewide broadcast, expressing deep pain over the incident and assuring residents that the state would not succumb to fear or intimidation. He pledged to strengthen security measures and imposed a curfew in the area to restore order.
