Nigeria’s democracy deteriorating under Tinubu, says ADC chieftain

ADC chieftain Ladan Salihu criticized the state of Nigeria's democracy under President Bola Tinubu, blaming the conduct of the recent state polls on widespread irregularities and the failure of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Salihu expressed disgust at the election process, citing voter intimidation, financial inducement, and violence in states like Zamfara, Kano, and Kebbi.

He accused INEC of missing a historic opportunity to redeem its image and called for systemic reforms to ensure free and fair elections in the future. Salihu dismissed claims of ADC's poor performance as a sign of weakness, emphasizing the party's rebuilding phase and limited candidate fielding.

He warned of a downward spiral in Nigeria's electoral process if reforms are not implemented, urging Nigerians to demand transparency and accountability from INEC.
