Dr. Ibraheem Dooba Wins 2026 McNulty Prize for Impact

Dr. Ibraheem Dooba has been honored with the 2026 McNulty Prize, making him the sole African recipient this year.

The McNulty Prize, presented in partnership with the Aspen Institute, recognizes leaders who create transformative solutions to societal challenges. Dr.

Dooba is a multidisciplinary leader and a member of the Africa Leadership Initiative West Africa. He founded the 200 Million Trees initiative, which aims to tackle pressing challenges in Northern Nigeria, including farmer-herder conflicts, environmental degradation, and malnutrition.

His work focuses on large-scale tree planting and sustainable land restoration, engaging communities across Northern Nigeria. The initiative has the potential to save thousands of lives lost annually due to conflict and diminishing natural resources, while also addressing food insecurity.

Dr. Dooba emphasizes that local solutions rooted in community realities can drive global impact, showcasing environmental restoration as a tool for peacebuilding and economic resilience.
