Akeem Ishola Busari Named Head Coach of Nigeria's Flamingos

Akeem Ishola Busari has been appointed as the head coach of Nigeria's U17 women's national football team, the Flamingos, by the Nigeria Football Federation's technical development committee. He replaces Bankol Olowooker, who led the team to a bronze medal at the 2022 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup held in India.

Busari brings robust experience and a deep understanding of women's football to the role. His immediate task is to prepare the Flamingos for the upcoming qualification race for the 2026 FIFA U17 Women's World Cup, which will take place in Morocco.

The Flamingos will face the winner of a preliminary clash between Niger Republic and Guinea, with the first leg scheduled to be played away from home in the third week of next month. Prior to this appointment, Busari served as the head coach of Pacesetters Queen Football Club in Ibadan.
