NFF Appoints Akeem Ishola Busari as Flamingos Coach

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has officially announced the appointment of Akeem Ishola Busari as the new head coach of the Flamingos, the Nigerian U-17 women’s football team. Busari takes over from Bankole Olowooker, who previously led the team to a commendable third-place finish at the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup held in India.

Currently, Busari is the head coach of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) side, Pacesetter Queens, based in Ibadan. Under his leadership, the Flamingos are set to face either Niger or Guinea in the second qualifying round for the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, with fixtures scheduled for next month.

The tournament will take place later this year in Morocco.
