Nigeria's Flying Eagles Set for WAFU B U20 Championship

Nigeria's U20 National Team, known as the Flying Eagles, has been drawn to face Ghana's Black Satellites, Togo's Junior Sparrow Hawks, and Burkina Faso's Young Stallions in Group B of the 2026 WAFU B U20 Championship. The tournament will be hosted by Côte d'Ivoire, with the draw conducted on Wednesday.

Head coach Abdu Maikaba will lead a squad of 23 players, who are set to depart the country on Monday next week. The Flying Eagles aim to secure one of the two tickets available for the next year's U20 Africa Cup of Nations.

Historically, Nigeria's Flying Eagles are seven-time African champions and two-time FIFA World Cup silver medallists. They are the defending champions of the WAFU B U20 Championship, having defeated Ghana's Satellites 2-1 in the final of the last edition held in Lomé.
