Defence Minister Highlights Navy's Role at 70th Anniversary

During the 70th anniversary ceremony of the Nigerian Navy held in Lagos, the Defence Minister, Musa, reaffirmed the Navy's essential role in safeguarding Nigeria's maritime domain. He noted the changing nature of maritime threats, which necessitates the integration of modern technology and intelligent surveillance systems.

The Minister emphasized that securing Nigeria's waters is crucial for protecting economic assets, supporting trade routes, and ensuring the safety of critical maritime infrastructure. He recognized the Nigerian Navy's contributions to combating piracy, crude oil theft, illegal fishing, and other maritime crimes that threaten national security and economic stability.
