Nigerian Military Neutralizes 80 ISWAP Terrorists in Borno

On March 18, the Nigerian military, under the command of Major General A.E. Abubakar, reported a successful operation in Mallam Fatori, Borno State, where they neutralized 80 ISWAP terrorists attempting to infiltrate their positions.

The operation, part of the Joint Task Force North East's Operation Hadin Kai, involved a coordinated response from ground forces and air support. The insurgents launched a deliberate assault aimed at breaching the defenses of the 68 Battalion but were detected early.

The Nigerian troops engaged the advancing fighters, denying them entry and forcing a disorganized retreat. The operation resulted in the recovery of 52 AK-47 rifles, eight PKT machine guns, five general-purpose machine guns, seven RPG tubes, and various ammunition and explosives.

The operation's success not only disrupted the insurgents' plans but also highlighted the importance of maintaining pressure on ISWAP's operational capabilities in the Lake Chad region.
