Saidu Muhammad Becomes Nigeria's High Commissioner to India

Saidu Muhammad has officially assumed the role of Nigeria's High Commissioner to India, taking office in New Delhi on Thursday, shortly after arriving with his spouse, Rukayya Muhammad. He was welcomed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport by officials from the Nigerian High Commission, representatives from India's Ministry of External Affairs, and members of the Nigerian community.

Muhammad, who has a long history with India, having visited for various official engagements over the past two decades, expressed his commitment to fostering stronger bilateral relations, particularly in trade and investment. He assured embassy staff and the Nigerian community of an inclusive approach during his tenure, stating, “nobody is going to be left out in terms of working relationship.” Muhammad also encouraged Nigerians in India to maintain a positive outlook, citing the importance of mindset in achieving success.

Hilary Okeke, President of the All India Nigeria-India Students and Community Association, welcomed him on behalf of the Nigerian community, expressing anticipation for his support.
