Nigeria's Envoy to India Seeks Stronger Trade Ties

On Monday, Saidu Muhammad, the Nigerian High Commissioner to India, presented his Letters of Credence to President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. During the ceremony, Muhammad conveyed greetings from Nigerian President Bola Tinubu and pledged to enhance economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Nigeria and India.

He underscored the importance of the bilateral relationship, which includes political, diplomatic, economic, commercial, cultural, educational, and people-to-people ties. Muhammad expressed his commitment to promoting Indian investment in Nigeria and facilitating stronger business engagements.

President Murmu welcomed Muhammad and acknowledged the historical bonds and mutual respect between the two nations. She highlighted India's significant role as a trading partner for Nigeria and noted the potential for expanding trade and investment.

Murmu appreciated the contributions of Indian businesses to Nigeria's economic growth and expressed confidence that Muhammad's tenure would positively impact Nigeria-India relations.
