Super Eagles Rise to 26th in Latest FIFA Rankings

In the latest FIFA men's world rankings released on Monday, Nigeria's Super Eagles have made a significant leap, climbing 12 spots to 26th globally and securing third place in Africa. This rise follows their commendable performance in the 2025 African Cup of Nations held in Morocco, where they earned the highest points in the latest rankings, totaling 79.09.

Under the guidance of coach Eric Chell, the Super Eagles won six out of seven matches, with their only defeat coming in the semi-finals against Morocco, which they lost narrowly on penalties. In the African leaderboard, Nigeria trails behind AFCON champions Senegal, who are ranked 12th globally, while Morocco holds the eighth position worldwide.

Other African teams in the top rankings include Algeria and Egypt, occupying the fourth and fifth spots respectively. The top ten global teams include Spain, Argentina, France, England, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, Morocco, Belgium, and Germany.
