Super Falcons Aim for 2027 World Cup Qualification

Asisat Oshoala, a forward for Nigeria's Super Falcons, expressed the team's determination to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, emphasizing the importance of not disappointing Nigerian fans after the Super Eagles' failure to qualify. The Super Falcons, under the guidance of coach Justine Madugu, missed the chance for automatic qualification after a 1-0 loss to the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

To secure their place in the World Cup, the team must now navigate a challenging qualification route, starting with a play-in match against Banyana Banyana of South Africa. This encounter is scheduled for Thursday at the Moulay Rachid Stadium in Casablanca, with a kick-off time of 9 PM Nigerian time.
