NSC Encourages Super Falcons for World Cup Playoff Match

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has expressed optimism regarding Nigeria's Super Falcons' chances of qualifying for the 2027 FIFA World Cup. The team is set to face South Africa in a crucial playoff match on Thursday night in Casablanca.

Following a narrow defeat to Cameroon in the quarter-finals of the ongoing WAFCON tournament in Morocco, the NSC has called on the players to overcome their disappointment and concentrate on securing a victory. Hon. Bukola Olopade, the Director General of the NSC, emphasized the Super Falcons' status as Africa's premier football brand and reassured the team of the Federal Government's unwavering support.

He stated that the rare loss to Cameroon should not define the team's capabilities. Olopade conveyed the sentiments of Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the NSC, urging the players to channel their energy into the upcoming match, with the government committed to ensuring they secure the World Cup ticket.
