Minister Musawa Promises Beneficial Review of Tourism Acts Amid Calls for Reform

Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, assured stakeholders in the Nigerian tourism sector of a beneficial review of the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) Act 2022 and the National Institute of Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR) Act 2022. The Ministry plans to analyze the Acts alongside industry input to strengthen the sector.

The Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) has called for urgent reforms, seeking alignment with government and private sector interests. Minister Musawa emphasized the importance of collaboration with stakeholders for a comprehensive review process before potential amendments are presented to the National Assembly.
