Nile University Expands Vocational Training Programs

Nile University of Nigeria, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dilli Dogo, is expanding its vocational training and entrepreneurship programs to address the skills gap in Nigeria. Prof. Dogo emphasized the need for education to go beyond traditional academic certifications, equipping students with practical skills necessary for real-world problem-solving.

The university has introduced various initiatives, including an incubator hub for startups and partnerships with international organizations like the EC Council and Vega Human Resource from Serbia, to provide students with paid internship opportunities and internationally recognized cybersecurity certifications. Over the past four years, the university has focused on enhancing its entrepreneurship initiatives, resulting in an average graduate employment rate of almost 90 percent.

Additionally, the university has established a fabric laboratory (fablab) to allow students to design and manufacture prototypes, thereby gaining hands-on experience in modern manufacturing techniques. Prof. Dogo's approach aims to align higher education with industry needs, ultimately supporting Nigeria's economic growth.
