NIMASA Launches Digital Seafarers’ Discharge Book Portal

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) launched a digital platform known as the Seafarers’ Discharge Book Management Portal. This initiative aims to streamline the application and verification process for issuing seafarers' discharge books.

The portal was unveiled during activities marking the 2026 Day of the Seafarer celebration in Lagos, themed "Carrying World Trade." Dr. Dayo Mobereola, the Director General of NIMASA, described the launch as a significant milestone in the agency's digital transformation agenda.

The initiative underscores NIMASA's commitment to improving service delivery, enhancing maritime safety standards, and strengthening the global competitiveness of Nigerian seafarers. The agency aims to provide an efficient and secure system that supports professional development within the maritime sector.
