NIMC Warns Against Fake NIN Data Correction Flyer

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has officially debunked a fraudulent online flyer that falsely claims to offer free data correction services for the National Identification Number (NIN). The commission warned Nigerians against using the unofficial portal promoted in the flyer, which has been widely circulated on social media.

The flyer, which bears the NIMC and federal government logos, falsely suggests that the government has opened a portal for correcting various details such as names, gender, and dates of birth due to a high volume of complaints. NIMC clarified that any modifications to NIN data must be conducted through their official self-service portal.

The commission emphasized that the flyer is fake and urged the public to disregard it to avoid potential scams.
