NiMet Predicts Dust Haze and Thunderstorms Nationwide

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has released a weather outlook predicting a three-day period of dust haze and cloudiness across Nigeria, starting from Monday. On Monday, slight dust haze is expected in the northern region, with visibility ranging from 2km to 5km.

Borno and Yobe states may experience moderate dust haze. The North Central region will also see slight dust haze, while the southern region will have a cloudy atmosphere with intermittent sunshine and a slim chance of morning thunderstorms, particularly in Cross River and Akwa Ibom states.

On Tuesday, moderate dust haze is anticipated in the northern region, with similar conditions in the North Central region. The southern region will continue to have a cloudy atmosphere with chances of thunderstorms and light rain in various states.

By Wednesday, thick dust haze is expected across the northern and North Central regions, while the southern region will maintain a cloudy atmosphere with potential thunderstorms. NiMet urges the public to take necessary precautions due to the health risks posed by dust particles.
