NiMet Predicts Hazy Weather for Nigeria Over Three Days

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather forecast predicting three days of hazy conditions across Nigeria. The agency reported moderate dust haze affecting visibility, particularly in the northern region, where visibility may range from two to five kilometers.

In specific areas such as Katsina, Kano, and Jigawa states, visibility could drop to less than 1,000 meters throughout the forecast period. The north-central region is also expected to experience moderate dust haze.

Conversely, the southern regions are anticipated to have sunny skies with few patchy clouds and a slim chance of isolated thunderstorms accompanied by light rainfall, particularly in areas like Lagos, Bayelsa, Delta, and Akwa Ibom states. NiMet advises the public, especially individuals with asthma or respiratory conditions, to exercise caution due to suspended dust particles.

Motorists are also urged to drive carefully during rainfall, and airline operators are advised to obtain specific weather reports for their operations.
