NiMet Warns of Dust Haze, Advises Respiratory Patients

The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet) has issued a weather outlook predicting dust haze and sunny conditions across Nigeria, particularly on Monday and Wednesday. The agency warns that dust particles will remain suspended in the air, urging individuals with respiratory conditions, especially asthma, to take necessary precautions.

The northern and central regions are expected to experience sunny and hazy conditions, with visibility ranging from two to five kilometers in states like Kebbi and Kano. The Federal Capital Territory and Niger State are also forecasted to remain sunny and hazy throughout the period.

In the southern region, NiMet predicts sunny skies with occasional cloud patches and possible afternoon thunderstorms accompanied by light rain in states such as Bayelsa, Lagos, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom. Slight dust haze is expected to persist in parts of Kano and Kebbi, while Plateau State may experience isolated thunderstorm activity during the afternoon and evening hours.
