Nigeria Immigration Service Honors Retirees and Clarifies Passport Issue

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) honored four senior officers who retired after 35 years of service during a valedictory session held in Abuja. The retirees included Deputy Comptroller-General of Planning, Research and Statistics, D.M.

Bagari; Deputy Comptroller-General of ICT and Cybersecurity, A. Obianime; Deputy Comptroller-General of Border Management, A.R.

Sabo; and Assistant Comptroller-General of the Migration Directorate, A.M. Halliday.

The Comptroller-General of Immigration, K.N. Nandap, represented by Deputy Comptroller-General of Visa and Residency, F.U.

Nwanneka, commended the retirees for their leadership, dedication, and contributions to the growth and transformation of the Service, wishing them a fulfilling and peaceful retirement. The event was attended by senior management officials, serving officers, family members, friends, and well-wishers who celebrated the retirees’ careers and legacies.

Additionally, the NIS provided clarification regarding the controversial issuance of a Nigerian passport to Mrs. Rebecca Omokamo Godwin-Isaac.
