Nigeria Grants 30-Day Visa Exemption for Rwandans

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the implementation of a 30-day visa exemption for Rwandan nationals, following a directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This initiative is a reciprocal gesture, as the Rwandan government previously granted Nigerian citizens a similar 30-day visa exemption.

The announcement was made by Akinsola Akinlabi from the NIS's public relations office and was communicated during the Africa CEO Forum held in Kigali, Rwanda. The NIS has finalized necessary preparations to ensure the smooth implementation of this policy, which reflects ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral relations between Nigeria and Rwanda.

The policy is set to commence immediately, impacting various entry points including airports, land borders, and seaports. President Tinubu's administration emphasizes the importance of facilitating safe and orderly migration in line with international best practices, aiming to promote intra-African mobility, tourism, and economic cooperation.
