NIS Deploys Passport Team to UK for Nigerians Abroad

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has announced the deployment of a Passport Intervention Team to the United Kingdom, aimed at streamlining passport applications for Nigerians living abroad. This initiative, directed by the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, is part of ongoing efforts to enhance passport services for the diaspora.

The team, led by Comptroller-General of Immigration Kemi Nandap, is scheduled to arrive in the UK on August 10, 2026. They will collaborate with the Nigerian High Commission to process pending, new, and renewal passport applications.

The intervention will cover designated cities across the UK, allowing eligible applicants to access passport enrolment and processing. Nigerians with pending applications, new applicants, and those needing to renew passports with less than one year before expiry can participate.

Applicants must present completed forms and proof of payment during enrolment. The NIS will provide further details on the schedule and locations, urging applicants to await official communication before proceeding.
