NIS and NJI Sign MoU to Boost Sports Administration

On July 15, 2026, Comrade Philip Shaibu, the Director General of the National Institute for Sports, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Judicial Institute (NJI) in Abuja. This agreement aims to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions to enhance sports administration and promote capacity building in Nigeria.

During the signing ceremony, Shaibu emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration, noting that government funding alone is insufficient for sustainable sports development in Nigeria. He called for strategic partnerships and alternative funding sources to address financial and administrative challenges in the sports sector.

Hon. Justice Adejumo, representing the NJI, commended Shaibu's leadership and the reforms introduced under his administration, describing the MoU as a significant step toward improving sports development and capacity building in the country.

The partnership is expected to foster knowledge sharing and contribute meaningfully to the overall development of sports in Nigeria.
