NIMASA and NSIB Strengthen Maritime Safety Collaboration

The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has reaffirmed its commitment to enhancing maritime safety and security through collaboration with the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB). This commitment was articulated by Dr. Dayo Mobereola, the Director General of NIMASA, during a courtesy visit from Captain Alex Sabundu Badeh Jnr., the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of NSIB, at NIMASA's headquarters in Lagos.

Mobereola emphasized the strategic role of NSIB in promoting transportation safety and the necessity for stronger collaboration to achieve sustainable results in maritime safety. He stated that building a maritime sector aligned with global best practices is essential for protecting lives, vessels, and the marine environment.

Captain Badeh echoed the importance of collaboration between the two agencies, highlighting their distinct statutory mandates yet shared objective of safeguarding lives, property, and the marine environment through effective safety systems.
