Nigeria Immigration Service to Introduce Emergency Passport for Nigerians Abroad

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) is set to launch a new biometric emergency passport to aid Nigerians abroad facing passport expiration or loss. The announcement was made by the Comptroller General of Immigration, Kemi Nanna Nandap, during a joint thematic meeting in Khartoum, Rabat, and Niamey.

The new travel document aims to enhance identification management and border security for Nigerians in line with global best practices. This initiative is part of the ongoing reforms by NIS to strengthen services and protect identities.

The NIS reaffirmed Nigeria's commitment to regional and global migration dialogue.
