NITDA and NACCIMA Partner to Boost Nigeria's Digital Economy

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) and the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) have established a public-private partnership aimed at enhancing Nigeria's digital economy. NACCIMA will serve as a private-sector investor pipeline and facilitator for startups and technology ventures supported by NITDA.
The partnership will connect government technology innovators with real-sector demand through NACCIMA’s extensive network. Kashifu Abdullahi, the Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of NITDA, emphasized the importance of combining government policy with private sector demand to foster growth in Nigeria's digital ecosystem.
A memorandum of understanding was signed, and a joint technical working group was formed, co-chaired by Dr Aristotle Onume and Dr Segun Olugbile. The partnership will implement three initiatives: leading private-sector mobilization for the Digital Nigeria International Conference and Exhibition 2026 in Abuja, equipping 10,000 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises with AI tools and digital skills, and launching a digital trust mark platform for compliance with data protection standards.
