NJFP Enhances Youth Employment Initiatives in Nasarawa

The Nigerian Jubilee Fellowship Programme (NJFP) is intensifying its efforts to address youth unemployment in Nasarawa State by bridging the gap between young graduates and employment opportunities. An engagement session was held at the headquarters of the Nasarawa Investment Development Agency (NASIDA) in Lafia, bringing together key stakeholders to strengthen workforce development.

The program, initiated by the federal government and funded by the European Union, aims to connect graduates with structured workplace opportunities. Senior Special Assistant to the President, Akubo Adegb, emphasized that while Nigeria has a surplus of talent among its youth, there is a significant shortage of opportunities.

The NJFP program is designed to help young Nigerians gain practical experience and contribute to economic growth. Clare Henshaw from UNDP noted that the program connects talent directly with employment opportunities, while Haruna Sani Sani from NASITDEA praised the contributions of fellows deployed in public institutions.

The initiative is expected to further strengthen workforce development and youth employment in Nasarawa State.
