NMA Member Challenges NMA's Role in Declaring Nnamdi Kanu Fit for Trial

A member of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Dr. Adefolasey Adebomi Adebayo, criticized the NMA for declaring Nnamdi Kanu fit to stand trial in a terrorism case.

The NMA panel's report submitted to the court stated Kanu's fitness, despite his health challenges. The prosecution team, led by Adegboyega Awomolo SAN, confirmed that Kanu's ailment was not life-threatening.

The NMA's role in such declarations was questioned, prompting a response from NMA's national president, Prof. Bala Moham Audu, clarifying the association's limited authority in such matters.
