NMA Suspends Former UniUyo Chairman Indefinitely for Court Action

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has suspended Dr. Ekemini Johnson, the former Chairman of UniUyo branch in Akwa Ibom State, indefinitely for dragging the association to court without utilizing internal dispute resolution mechanisms.

This action was taken during the association's 5th annual general meeting and scientific conference held in Uyo. Dr.

Johnson was directed to step down and remain suspended until she withdraws the case and tenders an unconditional apology. The NMA seeks to improve medical education and healthcare in Nigeria while addressing the welfare of doctors and enhancing healthcare systems.
