NNPC Launches Self-Service Fuel Stations Across Nigeria

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has introduced a self-service fuel station initiative that enables motorists to pay digitally and dispense fuel independently using a mobile application. This service will be available at selected NNPC Retail stations, with plans to deploy between 50 and 70 smart stations across Nigeria within the next six months.

Customers can download the NRL Fuel App to select a station, pay for fuel, and receive a code to activate the pump. The process involves choosing the type of fuel, selecting a participating station, entering the desired spending amount, and completing payment through the app.

After payment, users receive a digital receipt with an Order ID and a Self-Service Code to dispense fuel. NNPC Executive Vice President, Downstream, Mumuni Dagazau, stated that this initiative aims to transform traditional filling stations into mobility hubs.

The newly commissioned smart station on Bill Clinton Drive, Airport Road, allows customers to complete transactions on their phones and dispense the exact quantity purchased.
