NNPCL Denies False Claims of Selling Refinery Equipment

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) issued a statement denying allegations regarding the sale of refinery equipment, describing the reports as false and misleading. Andi Odeh, the Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL, clarified that the company has not authorized the sale of scrap materials or refinery components.

The statement highlighted that certain individuals falsely presented themselves as representatives of NNPCL, claiming to facilitate the sale of so-called scrap metal from refinery equipment. NNPCL urged the public and industry stakeholders to disregard these claims and exercise caution when dealing with anyone making such representations.

The company reassured that it would conduct legitimate asset disposals transparently and communicate through official channels in accordance with applicable regulations. NNPCL encouraged reporting any such fraudulent claims to the appropriate law enforcement authorities, reaffirming its commitment to transparency and responsible management of national energy assets.
