NNPP Faction to Appeal Court Ruling on Leadership

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) faction has announced its intention to appeal a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court ruling that affirmed Dr. Agbo Major as the party's national chairman.

Ladipo Johnson, the faction's spokesperson, described the judgment as a miscarriage of justice and an assault on democracy. He argued that the FCT High Court's decision overstepped its jurisdiction, especially since the matter is already under consideration by the Abia State High Court and the Court of Appeal in Owerri.

Johnson criticized the court for disregarding procedural irregularities and noted that the NNPP was not properly served court processes, which undermines the principle of fair hearing. He expressed concerns about the integrity of the judicial process and warned that the judgment could erode public confidence in Nigeria's judiciary.

Johnson reassured party members that this setback is temporary and that they will take necessary legal steps to appeal the ruling, confident that the appellate court will rectify the situation and uphold the rule of law.
