NNPP Demands INEC to Enforce Court Order Recognizing Leader

The factional New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has demanded that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) swiftly execute a Federal Capital Territory High Court order issued by Justice Bello Kawu. The ruling, made on Tuesday, March 17, compels INEC to recognize Agbo Major as the leader of the party and update its records within 72 hours.

The NNPP, represented by its National Secretary Mr. Ogini Olaposi, expressed disappointment that INEC had previously engaged with a rival faction led by Dr.

Ajuji, despite the court's clear directive. The judgment prohibits INEC from conducting any business with the Ajuji-led faction until the judicial review is concluded.

The party urged its members to remain calm and continue their membership drive, emphasizing that they will fully participate in the 2027 general elections. The NNPP also reiterated that members expelled for anti-party activities will remain expelled, while those who defected are welcome back.
