NNPP Urges INEC to Recognize Major-led Leadership

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to comply with a court order that recognizes the leadership of Agbo Major as the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party. This directive was issued by the Federal Capital Territory High Court, presided over by Justice Bello Kawu, which ruled that INEC must update its records to reflect Major's leadership within 72 hours.

The NNPP expressed disappointment that INEC has reportedly continued to engage with a faction led by Dr. Ahmad Ajuji, despite the court's ruling.

The party emphasized that the court's order is valid and that any appeal filed does not halt the enforcement of the order unless specifically granted by the court. The NNPP urged its members to remain calm and continue their activities across the country, reinforcing their commitment to the upcoming 2027 general elections.
