NNPP Thanks Kwankwaso for Anticipated Defection

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) confirmed the receipt of a statement issued on Sunday by Ibrahim Karaye, the party's public secretary, expressing appreciation to Rabiu Kwankwaso for his defection. The NNPP stated that Kwankwaso's departure was not a surprise, as it had been anticipated following ongoing consultations among opposition political parties aimed at forming a stronger alliance for future elections.

The party explained that this move is part of their efforts to unite opposition figures to dislodge the All Progressives Congress (APC) government and put the country on a better path. Despite the resignation, the NNPP acknowledged Kwankwaso's significant role in building the party over the past three years.

The statement highlighted that during this period, the NNPP recorded significant political gains, including producing governors, Senate members, House of Representatives members, and several state assembly members, and wished Kwankwaso well in his future political journey.
