NNRA Promotions Governed by Civil Service Rules, Analyst Says

Public affairs analyst Idowu Mustapha has stated that promotions at the Nigerian Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NNRA) are governed by civil service rules, countering allegations against Director General Dr. Yau Idri.

Mustapha described claims of procedural misconduct as misleading, asserting that the promotion process within federal agencies must adhere to established guidelines and statutory procedures. He emphasized that the Director General does not possess unilateral power to promote staff and that any administrative decisions must follow the appropriate channels.

Mustapha criticized the portrayal of Dr. Idri, who has a reputation for integrity and transparency, as acting outside the law without credible evidence.

He called for restraint from the media and public regarding allegations against public servants, stressing the importance of due process and the need for ongoing investigations to be respected. Mustapha urged stakeholders to allow the legislative process to unfold without premature conclusions that could damage reputations.
