FCC and NRC Enhance Partnership for Fair Recruitment

The Federal Character Commission (FCC) and the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) have reinforced their partnership to ensure fair recruitment and promotions in line with federal character principles. This commitment was articulated during a meeting held on Tuesday at the NRC headquarters in Abuja, where FCC representatives, including Peter Ez from Enugu State, engaged with NRC management.

The FCC emphasized a proactive approach to enforcing federal character principles, warning that any agency that conducts recruitment and promotions without FCC involvement would face appropriate actions. Dr.

Kayode Opeifa, the NRC Managing Director, described the meeting as productive and reaffirmed the corporation's commitment to national integration through the railway system. He assured that the NRC is ready to comply with federal character principles and is deploying technology to improve operations despite funding limitations.

FCC Executive Chairman Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran reiterated the commission's commitment to ensuring that every Nigerian feels a sense of belonging and warned against deliberate violations of constitutional provisions.
