NNS Beecroft Transfers Ghanaian Stowaways to Immigration

On April 1, 2026, the Nigerian Navy Ship NNS Beecroft formally transferred three Ghanaian stowaways to the Nigeria Immigration Service as part of ongoing efforts to combat illegal migration and enhance maritime security along Nigeria's coastline. The suspects, identified as Armah Peter (26), Amisah Daniel (22), and Amoh Michael (25), were discovered on March 28, 2026, concealed within the rudder compartment of the merchant vessel MT Anatolia, which was docked at Dangote Terminal in Lagos.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had traveled from Ghana to Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, and were attempting to illegally migrate to Europe. Commodore Aiwuyor Augustin Aliu emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation in addressing irregular migration and safeguarding Nigeria's maritime domain.

The Nigeria Immigration Service is responsible for the transfer of the suspects to the Ghanaian embassy to complete proper judicial procedures.
